Study Inn Group hires finance director for PBSA expansion plans

Study Inn Group has appointed Gurvinder Gill (pictured above) as its new finance director to support the company’s growth.

Gurvinder has over 18 years of experience in UK real estate, with a focus on student accommodation, residential, and hotels.

Prior to this, he was finance director at UPP Student Accommodation, where he played an integral part in scaling the business from 2,000 to over 20,000 rooms, and raised £1.4bn across the operations and development divisions.

He also previously worked at Rocket Properties, where he secured a £250m debt facility for the development of the Atlas residential tower and WeWork office building.

Commenting on the appointment, Gurvinder said: “I’m excited to have joined Study Inn at this pivotal moment in its growth, where I have the opportunity to help [expand] the business.

“I have always been drawn to organisations that have an obsessive strive to be best in class, and Study Inn has shown that it has excelled in the construction and operational aspects of its business over the past 12 years, delivering early, above expectations, and continually improving its unique customer-focused offering in the student accommodation sector.”

Kieran Leahy, director at Study Inn, added that the company was very pleased to have Gurvinder on board.

“His extensive experience [in] funding arrangements, structuring, origination, construction, and operations will be instrumental in our mission to deliver well-designed student accommodation solutions to a broader scope of institutional partners.

“We have a very successful track record and a strong foundation upon which to build, and Gurvinder will help us develop product offerings designed for institutional fund investors."
